Wild, Wet Weekend

Somerset — Somerset Mayor Eddie Girdler excitedly described this past weekend at the SomerSplash Water Park as the biggest ever, and indeed the numbers show a massive crowd. Over 3,000 people came through Saturday, marking what’s expected to represent the largest crowd on a non-holiday for the city-operated water park on Ky. 2227. Park manager Stephen Sims said that with a softball tournament going on next door, the entire complex was packed, with parking on the grass becoming necessary. Inside the water park, kids of all ages enjoyed fun times in the pools and on the water slides.
