Family escapes fire injured

Somerset —

A Somerset family escaped unharmed after a basement fire smoked them out of the house, at left,  causing smoke damage and melting plastic pipes in the basement. Parker’s Mill, Tateville and Somerset fire departments responded to the fire at 405 Buckeye Drive and kept the fire contained to the basement. The family was home, but escaped unharmed, and the fire likely caused smoke damage to the rest of the home, said Harper’s Mill Deputy Fire Chief Keith Price.
