SHS fans to hold benefit for players involved in accident

Somerset —

Somerset Briar Jumper football fans have announced a benefit dinner and fund drive tonight from 5-7 p.m., prior to the Somerset football game against Shelby Valley.
All proceeds will go directly to the families of Will Hinton and Jacobi Gilmore.
Hinton and Gilmore were seriously injured in an automobile crash on October 4. Schools from across the state, including Pulaski County and Southwestern have made donations to the players. Cheerleaders and players have taken up collections. Lexington Christian Academy called it a “love offering.” And the generosity has been overwhelming.
A nonprofit corporation has been formed in order to accept donations on behalf of the athletes. That corporation has set up a trust at First and Farmers Bank in Somerset. Donations can be made at any First and Farmer’s location or by mail to Gilmore-Hinton Jumper Benefit, PO Box 32, Somerset KY 42502.
Tonight’s dinner will be at the Meece Middle school and catered by Bill Hamilton. The price is $10.00 per person.
