Coming in Saturday's CJ

Somerset — Here are the stories the Commonwealth Journal is following for Saturday's edition:

• God’s Food Pantry always strives to make the holidays for many less fortunate Pulaski Countians a little bit more happy, happy, happy.

This year, they’re calling in a little extra help. Duck calling them, in fact.

The stars of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” are coming to Somerset on Saturday, October 5 to share their unique message and help raise money for God’s Food Pantry, the local food bank which provides meals to lower-income families who might need a little extra help.

• The victim of a pedestrian accident involving a train has been identified as a young local woman, according to Somerset Police.

Dayona Pitman, 21, was identified as the individual who was struck by a Norfolk Southern train Thursday evening while walking along the tracks. Pitman lived on West Columbia Street, close to the scene of the accident.

• At this point, most, maybe all, mayors of Pulaski county cities will seek new terms next year, and it appears a race is shaping up for mayor of Somerset.

Read about these stories and more in Saturday's Commonwealth Journal.
