Somerset —

A report of a stolen camera led to four people arrested on drug and theft charges.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a camera taken from a home on Sara Lane, located off Ky. 1248 west of Somerset, and began looking into the report on Friday.
The investigation led deputies to one of the suspects, who was staying at America’s Best Value Inn, located on U.S. 27 in Somerset. Investigators searched the room the suspect was staying in and allegedly found metham-phetamine and syringes while looking for the stolen camera.
It was during the search when a man, later identified as Stanley McCoy, 28, of North Ky. 1247 in Science Hill, entered the room and allegedly had several items with him that he’d taken from Big Lots.
“(McCoy) removed several stolen items from his person and placed them on the bed,” stated a press release from the sheriff’s department.
The undercover deputy revealed himself and searched McCoy, according to the press release. It was during that search when the deputy allegedly found Xanax pills on McCoy.
At that point, two other people, a male and female later identified as Jesse Daughetee, 30, of Rainy Road, Somerset, and Kelsea Dills, 26, of Grundy Road, Somerset, walked into the room, allegedly with the camera that had been taken from the Sara Lane residence.
Deputies realized that Dills and Daughetee had driven to the hotel in a black 1999 Mercedes — the same car reported stolen from Wades Auto Sales on Thursday after the car was taken for a test drive and not returned.
Deputies searched Daughetee and allegedly found methamphetamine. Dills was later searched at the Pulaski County Detention Center, and a used syringe was allegedly found in her pant leg.
A fourth person was arrested after he was allegedly found hiding in the hotel room bathroom. Deputies found that Raye L. Daulton, 31, of Scenic Vista Drive, Somerset, had three warrants of arrest out — two from Pulaski County and one from Rockcastle County.
McCoy was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
Daughetee was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (for the 1999 Mercedes), theft by unlawful taking under $500 (for the camera), and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
Dills was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (for the 1999 Mercedes), theft by unlawful taking under $500 (for the camera), and second-degree promoting contraband after she allegedly took the syringe into the detention center.
Daulton was arrested and charged with three counts of failure to appear in court.  All four suspects were lodged in the detention center.
