Somerset — Coach Beth Bruner told her squad, “each team leaves a legacy” and the 2013 Somerset High School cheer squad’s legacy will be that of a KHSAA State Champion. The Region 12, Class 1A, Small Varsity cheer squad competed against a field of 12 regional winners in the first ever KHSAA-sanctioned cheerleading championship (formerly KAPOS State) in Bowling Green on February 23, walking away from their final competition mat with the State Championship and the highest overall score of the competition.
