Sheriff's detectives investigating Ky. 192 shooting

Somerset —

A Saturday night shooting is still under investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff Department.

Few details can be confirmed as of yet, as Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood said that as of 11 p.m. Saturday, detectives were still conducting interviews.

However, it is known that at around 6 p.m., a shooting occurred at a residence on Ky. 192, near Piney Grove. Two men were involved, likely related according to Wood, and while the circumstances under which the shooting occurred are still in question, Wood noted it’s possible that it was in self-defense.

The victim, who was not yet identified, was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, in critical condition.

The Commonwealth Journal will have more on the story as details become available.
