Pastor Juan Castillo, 87, a resident of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Monday, April 14, 2008 at his home in Somerset. He was born February 8, 1921 at San Salvador, El Salvador, the son of Carmen Castillo. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and had ministered to people all over central America and in the states of Utah, Nevada, Oklahoma, New Mexico and in Somerset. He was dedicated to the Lord's word — teaching the people for many years about the Lord wherever he was. He moved to Somerset in 1998.
He is survived by his loving wife, Herminia Vasquez Castillo, Somerset; four children, Dulce Mendoza (and her husband Edgar), Milwaukee, Wisc., Ciro M. Castillo (and his wife Susan), Oklahoma City, Okla., Tito C. Castillo, Louisville, Ky., and Estrella Ayala Shindlebower (and her husband Stuart), Somerset; eight grandchildren, Evelyn Mendoza, Heidi Murphy, Richard Castillo, Laura Ham , Alana Paradise, Jonathan Castillo, David Castillo and Joshua Ayala; and also five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents one brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 pm. at the McQueary Cemetery in Pulaski County.
Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
