Richard “Flipper” Phillippi, 54, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1954, in Somerset to Mary Burgin Burton and the late Joseph Phillippi. He was a self-employed carpenter and attended the Heritage Hope Church of God. He loved his family and golf.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Burgin Burton of Somerset; his stepfather, Wendell Burton of Somerset; two sons, Larry Phillippi of Somerset and Joseph “Joey” Phillippi of Richmond, Ky.; a daughter, Angela (and T. Jay) Hall of Somerset; two stepdaughters, Pam Simpson of Washington State and Tina Wilson of Nancy, Ky.; three grandchildren, Jasmine Hall, Callie Hall, and Peyton Phillippi; two step grandchildren, Kara Davis and Shelby Wilson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his father, Joseph Phillippi; his wife, Della Tucker Phillippi; and a son, Brian Scott Phillippi.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.
Visitation will be today, May 2, after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
