David Allen

David G. Allen, 56, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

He was born on June 18, 1951, in Somerset, to Mary Elizabeth Adams Allen and the late Edward Gann Allen. He was a laborer for the Donaldson Sign Company, and enjoyed the outdoors and collecting NASCAR Memorabilia. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Adams Allen, of Somerset; a son, Steven Gann Allen, of Science Hill, Ky.; two brothers, Dennis William Allen and Roger Dale Allen, both of Somerset; two sisters, Janice Lynn Sewell and Mary Ann (and Cecil) Nevels Jr., both of Somerset; a granddaughter, Knisha Allen, of Science Hill; two nieces, Ronnette Young of Casey County, Ky., and Krystal Taylor of Florida; and several cousins and aunts.

Preceding him in death was his father, Edward Gann Allen; a son, Mark Lee Allen; and a nephew, Bryan Scott Nevels.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Young officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, May 5, after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
