James Smith

Mr. James M. Smith, 58, of 507 White Road, Somerset, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born on March 11, 1950 in Pulaski County, Ky., He is the son of the late Wilmer F. Smith and Frances (Smith) Abbott, who survives.

Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Brown, of Louisville, Ky; also surviving are three brothers, Lloyd Smith, of Thompson, N.D..; Dennis Smith, of Tateville, Ky.; and Robert Smith, of Somerset, Ky.; five sisters, Wendelyn (Sue) Harrison, of Burnside, Ky., Patricia Bausum, of Somerset, Ky., Bertha Stigall, of Somerset, Ky., Vicki Griffith, of Lexington, Ky., and Delores Loveless, of Science Hill, Ky.

Mr. Smith also leaves behind four grandchildren and one step-grandchild. Mr. Smith also leaves behind his wife, Folicia Elane Smith.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Wayne Smith; and one sister, Rosemary Adkins.

Mr. Smith attended Eden Baptist Church. James was retired from Sprint Telephone Company and loved fishing, four wheeling, and working. Mr. Smith also served in the United States Marine Corp. in the Vietnam era.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 5 p.m. at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Brother Donnie Griffith officiating.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. James M. Smith.
