Lawrence “Red” Stout, 72, was born in the Tateville community of Pulaski County, Ky., on March 29, 1936, son of the late Ezra and Virce Godsey Stout. He passed away Wednesday morning, June 25, 2008, at his home in Monticello, Ky.
On Jan. 6, 1984, he united in marriage with Alice Foster Stout, who survives. Surviving are his children, Thurman Stout of Tateville, and Loretta Gossett of Somerset, Ky.; and stepchildren, Joy Williams, Jeanie Evans, Patricia Hicks, Melinda Martin, and Mike and Blane Williams. Also surviving is his sister, Ella Mae Davis; brothers, Junior, Russell, Hobart, and Harlan Stout; half brothers, Boyce and Harold Baker; his grandson, Jordan Gossett; 10 step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Charlie and Norman Stout; half sister, Pauline Hancock; and half brother, Lloyd Baker.
He was retired from Kingsford Charcoal of Burnside, Ky., and was a member of the Rogers Grove Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Hickey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bell, Bro. Greg Ryan, and Bro. Stanley Tucker officiating.
Burial will be in the Grave Hill Cemetery at Tateville.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today, June 27, at the funeral home.
