Robby Irene Meece, 70, of the Nancy community of Pulaski County, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on March 4, 1939, in Nancy, the daughter of the late Denny and Mae Vanhoosier Henderson. She was the previous owner and operator of Robby Jo’s Fashionette in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Somerset, Ky., and also of Robby Jo’s Kennels. Mrs. Meece enjoyed camping, playing cards, and being around people. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in St. Bernard, Ohio.
Mrs. Meece is survived by a daughter, Rita Jo Meece of Cincinnati; a brother, Johnnie Bluford Henderson of Nancy; a sister, Lorene Burton of Illinois; and a grandchild, Steven Dominic Meece of Nancy.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Denny and Mae Henderson; husband, William W. Meece, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1958, in Greensburg, Ind., and who passed away in March 1990; a son, Gary Dale; a brother, Herman Henderson; and a sister, Jean Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, June 29, after 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral to follow at 1 p.m. Brother Lowell Gossett will officiate.
Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy.
