— John “Tom” Jasper Crockett, 67, of Sloans Valley, Ky., passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Louisville, Ky.
He was born on April 7, 1942, in Somerset, Ky., the son of the late John Moree and Kathryn Parker Jasper Crockett. He was a master plumber and welder and member of the Somerset First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing bridge and coaching
soccer. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union 452 in Lexington, Ky.
Mr. Crockett is survived by a son, Joshua Moree Crockett of the Sloans Valley community; three daughters, Sarah Cathleen Crockett (and fiancé, Jared Zarantonello) of Louisville, Emily Mason Crockett of the Sloans Valley community, and Andrea Kathryn (and Marty) Taylor of Somerset; and a grandchild, Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Kathryn Crockett; his beloved wife, Cathy Sue Heldman Crockett, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1982, in Somerset, and who passed away on Nov. 4, 1997.
Visitation for Mr. Crockett will be Wednesday, July 1, after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Ky. 80, Somerset.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at the Somerset Cemetery with Bro. Murrell Crockett officiating.
