Harold “William” Harrison, 76, of Burnside, Ky., passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1932, in Oakland, Calif., the son of the late Carl and Dorothy Williams Harrison. He was a retired electrician for General Motors and Chrysler, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Leona McAfee Harrison, whom he married on Nov. 11, 2006, in Jellico, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Gay McCoy of Antioch, Ky.; a brother, David Harrison of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy (and James) Moody of Taylor, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law, Robert (and Ada) McAfee of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Cecil (and Janice) McAfee of Bethel, Ohio, and Billy D. (and Elanie) McAfee of Amelia, Ohio; and a best friend, Charlene Anderson of Burnside.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Dorothy Harrison; three brothers, Carl, George, and Donald Harrison; an infant sister; two sisters-in-law, Linda Ragle and Ruth Ragle; and a brother-in-law, Roger Ragle.
Visitation for Mr. Harrison will be Wednesday, July 1, after noon at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will be in the Grave Hill Cemetery in Tateville, Ky.
The American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors for Mr. Harrison.
