Samp Delano Adams, age 62, of Nancy, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Adams was born in Dartmont, Ky. in Harlan County on May 23, 1946 to Gladys Bryant Adams, Madisonville, Ky. and the late George Adams. He loved golf which he was good at, watching NASCAR and other sports. He also loved his second family he found while working at Lowe's of Somerset. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mr. Adams is survived by his mother; his wife, Betty Wright Adams, whom he married on Feb. 12, 1964 in Newport, Ky.; three daughters, Mona Adams (and Randy) Ferrell, of Crittendon, Ky., Samantha Adams, of Somerset, Ky., and Monica Adams (and Marc Minshall), of Milford, Ohio; two brothers, Hubert (and Connie) Adams, of Mesa, Ariz., John (and Faye) Adams, of Colerain Township, Ohio; a sister, Georgia (and Charles) Pennington, of Madisonville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Adam Brock, Amanda Blaine, Andrew Blaine, Mason Minshall, Landon Minshall, Matthew Wolfson, and Frances Wolfson; four great-grandchildren, Austin Darghty, Hailey Mills, Emmitt Mills, Julia Brock; and a niece, Tabatha Wright Wolfson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services for Samp Delano Adams will be held on Friday, July 18 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro. Patrick Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held today at 6 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
