Mr. Joe Livesay, age 84, of Eubank, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on May 24, 1924 in Barbourville, Ky. to the late John and Sarah Livesay. Joe and his wife, Ramona retired after 52 years in dairy farming. He was a faithful member of the Science Hill United Methodist Church. He loved the Lord and strove to serve Him daily. Joe enjoyed Coon hunting also.
Mr. Livesay is survived by his wife, Ramona Cox Livesay, whom he married in 1947; two sons, John Robert (and Jayne) Livesay, of Eubank, Ky. and David “Sam” Livesay, of Eubank, Ky.; and four grandchildren, John “Stewart” (and Jennifer) Livesay, of Chesterfield, Va., Matthew (and Tracey) Livesay, of Eubank, Ky., Jill (and Martin) Wheeldon, of Eubank, Ky. and Melanie (and Miles) Phelps, of Lexington, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Livesay, Savannah Livesay, Marshall Livesay, Lucas Wheeldon, and Dekker Wheeldon; a sister, Mary Belle (and James Allen) Gaines, of Campbellsville, Ky.; and a special niece, Mary Lois (and Darrell) Reynolds, of Campbellsville, Ky. A host of other nieces, nephews, friends, and church family mourn the passing of this Christian man.
Preceding Joe in death were his parents; six brothers, Hass, Coy, Clay, Adrian, Tom, and Robert; and two sisters, Sylvia and Ova.
Visitation for Mr. Livesay will be Saturday, July 19 after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Sunday, July 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. A. Wayne Watts and Bro. Ernest Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, Campbellsville, Ky.
