Tommy Jones

Tommy R. Jones, 38, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in Somerset, Ky., on July 9, 1970, son of Marty Jones and the late Rosa Lee Jones. He was a chemistry lab teacher's assistant at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. He had a business degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a biology and chemistry degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

He is survived by his father, Marty Jones of London, Ky.; paternal grandmother, Virginia Jones of Monticello; maternal grandmother, Ila Jones of Somerset, Ky.; one brother, Brandon Jones of London, Ky.; one sister, Amber Kennoy of Lexington, Ky.; and aunts and uncles, Curtis and Louise Gilliland of Somerset, and Larry and Helen Childress of Somerset.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Lee Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8 at Elk Springs Cemetery with Bro. Raymond Hail officiating.

Burial will be in Elk Springs Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Baylor Student Foundation Scholarship in memory of Tommy Jones.
