William Denny

William “Bill” Robbins Denny, 85, of Brentwood, Tenn., passed away Aug. 18, 2008.
Mr. Denny was born March 26, 1923, in Somerset, Ky., to the late Charles F. and Margaret D. Denny. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Grace Webb Denny; daughters, Nancy R. Denny and Gladys D. Denny; sister, Mary Jane (and Rue) Wesley; and brother, Jim G. (and Kitty) Denny.
Mr. Denny graduated from the University of Kentucky and served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He worked at Davey Compressor Company and then owned DryAir Inc. in Nashville, Tenn. He later worked as an agent for Coldwell Banker. Mr. Denny served as Commander of VFW Post 9687 and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, with Rev. Tom Gildemeister and Rev. Michele Morton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, Tenn., 37215.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, Tenn., 37027, (615) 373-3040.
