Robert “Bob” Tucker

Robert "Bob" Arthur Tucker, 88, of the Slate Branch community, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on December 22, 1919 in Whitley City, Ky., the son of the late Mitchell T. and Florence Sellers Tucker. He was a self-employed construction worker and a United States Army veteran. He loved his hat collection and enjoyed fishing, music, singing, watching Kentucky basketball, his great grandchildren, and watching the hummingbirds. Mr. Tucker was a member of the Slate Branch Baptist Church.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Bertha D. Gossett Tucker, whom he married on April 10, 1955 in Somerset; three daughters, Lisa (and James) Gray of Shelbyville, Ky., Tonda (and Eddie) Wright of Shafter Lane, and Joy (and Joe) Head of Shafter Lane; a brother, Arnold Tucker of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, Bobby (and Christina) Head, Rodney Head, Michael (and Stephanie) Roach, Patrick Wright, and Jennie (and Josh) Clayton; five great grandchildren, Haylee Head, Dylan Head, Devan Head, Sylas Roach, and Joshua Clayton.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Earl, Mitchell Jr., Edward, and Loren; and a sister, Lela Wolfe.
Visitation for Mr. Tucker will be after 6 p.m. today at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, then after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1 at Slate Branch Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 1 at 11 a.m. at the Slate Branch Baptist with Bro. Bill Dawson officiating.
Burial will follow in Slate Branch Cemetery.
