Gayola Mills

Gayola Mills, 91, died Friday morning, Oct. 3, 2008, at Lee County Constant Care at Beattyville after a long illness.
She was a former resident of Harlan County, having lived at Lawnvale and Loyall.
A native of Bell County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earie Mills, who was a coal miner at Liggett, Mary Helen and Holmes Mill. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucy Elam; a granddaughter, Angela Jones Lawson; two sisters and six brothers.
Mrs. Mills was a lifelong housewife and homemaker. She was active for several years in the Harlan County Homemakers Club. She attended Calvary Baptist Church at Loyall.
Mrs. Mills is survived by seven children and their spouses including Aaron (and Nancy) Mills, Gulston, Johnny (and Phyllis) Mills, Beattyville, Kathy (and Ewell) Balltrip, Somerset, Dean (and Cal) Cavins, McHenry, Illnois, Kay (and Virgil) Chappel, Edmond, Okla., Pat (and Bill) Ray, Southgate, Mich., and Vera (and John) Jones, Gray, Tenn. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Monday at 8 p.m. at the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Mills officiating.
Private graveside services and burial will be Tuesday at Resthaven Cemetery. Grandsons will
serve as pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
