Paul H. Vito Sr., 87, Nancy, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1921, in Centerville, Ohio, the son of the late Genivinci and Dolly Dillon Vito Rego. He was an electrician for South Kentucky RECC for 37 years and a United States Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #38 and also served on the Honor Guard detail, member of the Shopville V. F. W., and Seivers Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Chesterview Baptist Church for 53 years.
Surviving him are two sons, Paul (and wife, Saundra Kay) Vito Jr., Nancy, Ky., and Terry Vito of Nancy, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Scott Vito, Amy Vito Epperson, Jackey Vito, Sarah Vito, Terry Vito Jr., Mark Vito and Taryn Vito; seven great grandchildren, Ashley Vito, Logan Vito, Nathan Epperson, Matthew Epperson, Cydney Jade Vito, Derek Vito and Sabrina Vito.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a stepfather, Leonard Rego; his wife, Lois Imogene Wood Vito, whom he married on April 8, 1940 in Jamestown, Tenn.; a son, Dewayne Vito; and a brother, Sam Vito.
Visitation for Mr. Vito will be Tuesday (today), Oct. 7, 2008, after 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Masonic Rites conducted at 7 p.m. by Seivers Masonic Lodge #491.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Chesterview Baptist Church with Bro. Brandon Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors for Mr. Paul H. Vito Sr.
