Ilene Buchanan

Ilene Buchanan, 77, Turner Drive, Sidney, Ohio, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of the late Vernon and Vida (Wood) Norfleet. On July 18, 1947, she married Denver V. Buchanan, who survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Ken (and Judy) New, Sidney, Ohio, and Mrs. Bruce (and Linda) Dunagan, Biloxi, Miss.; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
Ilene was an avid gardener who loved to get her hands dirty and see the beautiful results. She had a great reputation for her fried chicken and homemade pies.
Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sidney. She had been a seamstress for Allen A. Company Manufacturing in Piqua, Ohio, retiring in 1982 after 28 years of service.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, Ohio, with the Rev. Charles Jarrett and the Rev. Brent Howard officiating.
Burial was in Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.
