James Beaty Anderson, age 52, was called to God on Monday, Oct. 13, 2009 in the Republic of Afghanistan.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1957 in Chicago, Ill. to the late James Buford Anderson and Irene Beaty Anderson, the oldest of two children. Jim honorably and faithfully served his country for over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army and retired as Major. Jim was a hardworking man who was completely devoted to his family and friends. He loved to fly and traveled the world on many missions in support of his country. In high school he was a member of the 1974 Plymouth Salem State Championship football team. Jim is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. In the past few years Jim had been living in Angeles City, Philippines.
James is survived by his brother, Philip Anderson; from Chantilly, Va.; and his two children, Robert and Jackie Anderson, of Jacksonville, Fla.
Visitation for Mr. Anderson will be at 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 in the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W. Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 7 at 12 p.m. in the Memory chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Chaplin Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by Fort Campbell Honor Guard.
