Orpah Swinford Billitter, 99, widow of Joseph W. Billitter and mother of Mary Jo Billitter, died at home Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009.
Born in Harrison County, Ky., May 8, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Martha Ann Collins Swinford.
Formerly from Burnside, Ky., she was a member of Burnside United Methodist Church, Burnside Woman’s Club, a charter member of the Lake Cumberland Garden Club, 50 year member of Somerset Chapter of D.A.R., Pulaski County Democrat Women’s Club, and a Kentucky Colonel.
In Lexington, Ky., she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors besides her daughter are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by Rev. Charles Cooper.
Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry, Ky.
Pallbearers will be Harold Bush, Harper Davis, Joe Lyons, Terry Arnold, Ed Culbertson, and J.W. Tyree. Honorary pallbearers will be Tandy Penn, Tom Penn, Bill Penn, Jim Ockerman, and Alvin Rose.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Burnside United Methodist Church, or in Lexington to Daybreak Community Church, First United Methodist Church, Nathaniel United Mission, or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
