Obituaries for Tuesday, December 24, 2013

Judy Hackworth
Judy Lynn Hackworth, age 62 of Ferguson, Ky. passed away at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 
She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on Nov. 5, 1951 to the late Marie Ping. Judy was a homemaker, and she loved the outdoors and loved her granddaughters. She was of the Baptist faith. 
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Howard Earl Hackworth; a son, Howard Lee Hackworth; and two brothers, Rick Ping and James Prather. 
She is survived by her son, Scott Thomas (Teresa) Hackworth; granddaughters, Makenna, Quaylynn and Alexis Hackworth of Shelbyville, Ind.; sisters, Mary, Theresa, Ann and Tammie; and brothers, Danny and Michael. 
Judy is also survived by special aunts, Betty, Freeda and Sue; special uncles, Henry and George; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Anna Mae, SueAnn and Clara, who will sadly mourn her passing. 
Judy will be greatly missed by all. 
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 after 12 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Henry Prather officiating. Burial will be in the Grave Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Ping, Pearl Campbell, Greg Howell, Dustin Turner, Dustin Gorman and
George Bullock. 
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
Deroy Haynes
Mr. Deroy Haynes, son of the late Alvin Lee and Ruth Heath Haynes, was born Nov. 6, 1927 and he departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 in Somerset, Ky. having attained the age of 86 years.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Violet Haynes and Bertha Haynes Johnson; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives who mourn his passing.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Rev. Edwin Watkin and Porter Hughes; two brothers, Lester and Willie “Bill” Haynes; two sisters, Bertie Watkins and Nannie Margaret Hughes; and two half brothers, Gleason and Columbus Ramsey.
