Elwood Durham
Elwood Durham, age 70 of Dry Branch Road in Somerset, Ky. passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
He was born on May 3, 1943 in Casey County, Ky. to the late Carlos and Jennie Perkins Durham. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the 3rd Brigade 32nd Division of the Paratroopers at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a craftsman of Indian Jewelry, working with silver craft, and he enjoyed playing the harmonica. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ulysses Durham and Cloyd Durham. 
He is survived by one daughter, Cindy Durham; and three brothers, Floyd (Marlene) Durham of Science Hill, Ky., Carroll (Marlyn) Durham of Cedar Grove, Ky. and Garry (Brenda) Durham of Cedar Grove, Ky. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 after 11 a.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Massey officiating. 
Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. 
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
 
Jon Kelley
Jon Burton Kelley, age 42, of Nancy, Ky., departed this life on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Jon was born on Dec. 3, 1971 in Flint, Mich. to Billy and Beulah Frye Kelley. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in Desert Storm, in Iraq. He was a member of the National Guard. 
Jon married Amy Jo Whittle in Nancy, Ky. on May 18, 1996. They have two daughters together. 
Jon worked for Tecumseh Products Company in Somerset, Ky., and for Kingsford Charcoal in Burnside, Ky. He was of the Baptist faith. Jon loved Kentucky Basketball and motorcycling with family and friends.
