George Abbott
George Chester Abbott, 89, of Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Somerset, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013.
He was born in Pulaski County, Ky., on May 9, 1924, son of the late George C. and Ida May Smith Abbott. He was a retired inspector for General Motors in Dayton, Ohio and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Jean Hines Abbott, whom he married on July 5, 1948; three daughters, Sandra Ann (and David) Valandingham and Gwendolyn Smith, both of Middletown, Ohio, and Denise (and James) Hoban of Springfield, Ohio; one brother, Tim Abbott of Somerset; three sisters, Ruth Anderson of Plainfield, Ind., Jeri Barnes of Centerville, Ohio, and Kathi Trick of Springboro, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jordan Abbott of Naples, Fla., Corey Abbott of Lebanon, Ohio, Amanda Hoban and Andrew Hoban, both of Springfield, Ohio and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen Howard Abbott; and son-in-law, Ronald Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. 
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charlie Carlson
Charlie C. Carlson, 87 passed away January 1, 2014 at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She was born May 30, 1926 in Somerset, Ky., a daughter of the late Charlie and Clora Hammond Correll.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Carlson, two brothers, Wayne and Ray and her sister, Beulah.
Charlie earned multiple Doctorate Degrees from Cathedral Bible College. She was a published author and a professor at Cathedral Bible College for over fifteen years. She was a member at Ocean View Baptist Church and was a true Southern lady.
