Mary Coons-Wells


Mary Phyllis Coons-Wells, 61, of Winchester, Ky., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at her home.  She was born in Eminence, Ky. on Oct. 31, 1951, daughter of the late Jack Coons Sr. and Sue Aldridge-Kindred. She was a housewife and stay-at-home mom. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church for many years in Nancy, Ky.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Robert (Bob) H. Wells, whom she married on July 11, 1998; her mother, Sue Aldridge Kindred of Eminence, Ky.; two daughters, Cynthia Bowling Douglas of Ferguson, Ky. and Oreida Bowling-Whiles (and Tim) Whiles of Ferguson, Ky.; five grandchildren, Amber (and Keegan) Bray of Somerset, Ky., Jessica (and Ben) Meeks of Science Hill, Ky., Seath Whiles of Ferguson, Ky., Zachary Whiles of Ferguson, Ky. and Laura Douglas of Ferguson, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Elijah and Gracelyn Meeks of Science Hill, Ky. and Kinley Bray of Somerset, Ky.; two brothers, Jack Jr. “Jake” (and Shirley) Coons of Eminence, Ky. and George (and Sue) Coons of LaGrange, Ky.; one sister, Glenna (and Robert) Chisholm of Columbia, Mo., along with many nieces and nephews; one step-daughter, Stacy Wells of Richmond, Ky.; and four step-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Coons, Sr.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. for family and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for friends on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville, Key.  
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the funeral home with Rev. Nick Coleman officiating.  
Burial will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Somerset, Ky.  
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
