Mr. James Crowe, age 84 of Somerset, son of the late Anna Hubble and Ben Crowe, was born on March 5, 1929 in Ky. and he departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at his residence in the presence of his family.
Mr. Crowe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Faye Crowe; five sons, Ben (and Janie) Crowe of Somerset, Ky., Charlie (and Patsy) Crowe of Canton, Ga., Kenny (and Phyllis) Crowe Somerset, Ky., Richard (and Karen) Crowe of Somerset, Ky., and Gerald (and Libby) Crowe of Somerset, Ky.; and two daughters, Libby Beebe of Somerset, Ky. and Jamie Selter of Henderson, Ky.
Mr. Crowe is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Stacy Burrell, Mike Crowe, Justin Crowe, Justin Crowe, Allison Davidson, J.R. Crowe, Amanda Markham, Chris Crowe, Casey Crowe, Holly Polk, Melissa Crowe, Rebecca Beebe, Sara Beebe, Jessica Beebe, Kotey Crowe, Andrew Selter, and Anna Selter; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyd Crowe and Joe Crowe; one sister, Evelyn Sowder; one grandson, Kevin Crowe; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Crowe; and two sons-in-law, Fred Beebe and Ron Selter.
Mr. Crowe was retired from Kentucky Utilities and was active in the 4-H, FFA Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Vegetable Growers, Hunter Education Program and the Somerset Outdoorsman Club.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Pendley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 honor guard.
The family of Mr. James Crowe will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Kevin J. Crowe Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Garnett Hampton, age 50, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.
Visitation for Mr. Hampton will be on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Gary Barnett officiating.

Mary E. Patterson, 79, of Eubank, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in Casey County, Ky. on Dec. 31, 1933, daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Wesley Lanham. She was a former clerk for Belcher's Grocery and a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was an amazing Christian example.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet (and Donnie) Black and Beverly Stigall, both of Eubank; one brother, Lloyd Lanham of Ind.; one sister, Viola Ottinger of Ind.; two grandchildren, Michelle Chumbley and Joseph Stigall; two great-grandchildren, Jesi and Susie Chumbley; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Patterson, whom she married on Feb. 17, 1951; her parents; five brothers, Ernest Lanham Jr., Ray Lanham, Thomas Lanham, Dale Lanham and Joe Lanham; two sisters, Gertrude Turner and Martha Lanham; and son-in-law, Richard Stigall.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating.
Burial will be in Durham Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Robert “Bob” Smith, age 84, of Bronston, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at his residence.
Bob was born on Dec. 29, 1928 in Ferguson, Ky. to the late John F. and Clara F. (Roysdon) Smith. He is a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a charter member of Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church. Bob’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies and great-grandbabies.
He is survived by his wife, Ophelia Mae (Miller) Smith, whom he married on March 19, 1955 in Rossville, Ga.; three daughters, Jenni (and Allen) Larkin of Bronston, Ky., Bobbie (and Jeff) Hawk of Somerset, Ky., and Ruth (and David) Skaggs of Somerset, Ky.; eight grandchildren; Shane (and DeAngela) Skaggs, Samantha (and Chad) Stykes, Jonas (and Kelli) Larkin, Matt Larkin, Kelly (and Brandon) Morrow, Robin Burnett, Josh Hawk, and Jared Hawk; and 13 great-grandchildren, Landon Stykes, Levi Stykes, Logan Stykes, Jayden Skaggs, Owen Larkin, Kylee Sparks, Kyndal Morrow, Cole Morrow, Conner Morrow, Kellan Morrow, Brayden Burnett, Zachary Burnett, and Cailynn Hawk.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Smith, Stanley Smith, Earl Smith; and a sister, Roxie Huling.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
