Somerset —

Vearl Colyer
Vearl Colyer, age 87 of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence. 
He was born on Jan. 23, 1927 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Ebb and Ora Wright Colyer. Vearl was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Southern Railroad after 44 years. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebb and Ora Colyer; and his wife, Helen Ford Colyer. 
He is survived by his stepson, Rick Phillipi of Lexington, Ky.; and five cousins, Arlene Farmer of Somerset, Ky., Wilda (Jay) Waddle of Ohio, Vola (Lois) Wright of Ohio, Arlene Mofield of Somerset, Ky. and Gertrude Carlton of London, Ky. 
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 after 11 a.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Harris officiating. 
Burial will be in the Somerset Cemetery. 
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
 
Othel Dick
Othel Eucletis Dick, 79, of Science Hill, Ky., passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Pulaski County, Ky. on Dec. 17, 1934, son of the late Hobert and Neatie Haggard Dick.  He was a machinist for Whirlpool and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Jearleen Randolph Dick of Science Hill; two daughters, Annette (and Tom) Wesley and Karen Dick, both of Science Hill; one sister, Betty (and Rod) Elliott of Science Hill; two grandchildren, John Aaron Wesley of Science Hill and Matthew Wesley, serving in the U.S. Army, of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Wesley of Science Hill; one great-grandchild, Aaliyah Marie Wesley of Science Hill; a sister-in-law, Glynes Dick of Somerset; stepsister-in-law, Shirley Butt of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews.
