Nora Anderson

Somerset —  

Nora Anderson, 55, of Ferguson passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at her residence.
She was born March 7, 1957 in Somerset, Ky., to Robert L. "Bobby" Newby and the late Nora V. Owen Newby. Nora was currently a member of the Ferguson City Council and had served three terms.  Nora was a member of High Street Baptist Church her whole life and rarely missed a church service. She taught Vacation Bible School for several years. Nora had a special love for animals. She enjoyed watching the University of Kentucky  Basketball games.  She was united in marriage to Arthur Anderson on December 26, 1998 in Ferguson, Ky.  
Nora is survived by her father, husband; son, Brian Minton (Kayla) of Berea, Ky.; her brother, Robb (and Jennifer) Newby of Danville, Ky.; and nieces Paige and Jenna Newby of Danville, Ky.
Preceding her in death were her mother and sister, Mary Elaine Newby.
Visitation for Nora will be Monday, October 22 from 5-9 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co. and on Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. at High Street Baptist Church.
A celebration honoring the life of Nora will be held Tuesday, October 23 at 2 p.m. at High Street Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Amundson officiating.
Interment will be in Somerset Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Somerset Pulaski County Humane Society.
Somerset Undertaking & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
