William Hardesty

William S. "Bill" Hardesty, age 70 of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  
He was born on Dec. 21, 1942 in Shelbyville, Ky. to the late Paul Curtis and Grace B. Dick Hardesty. Mr. Hardesty was of the Methodist faith. He was a self-employed salesman and he loved to collect antiques. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  
He is survived by his wife, Karen Gay Hardesty, whom he married on Dec. 21, 1968 in Shelbyville, Ky.; a son, William M. (and Angela) Hardesty of Monticello, Ky.; a daughter, Elizabeth (and Steve) Wheet of Science Hill, Ky.; six grandchildren, William C. and Kay Lee Marie Hardesty and Savanna, Jacob, Ashley and Emily Wheet; a brother, Paul Curtis (and Lynda) Hardesty of Louisville, Ky.; and a niece, Susan (and Josh) Gagel.  
He was preceded in death by his parents.  
Visitation will be on Friday, May 24, 2013 after 11 a.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Ky. with his funeral service to follow at the chapel at 1 p.m. Brother Steve Mullins will officiate.  
Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
