Larry Dyer


Larry Richard Dyer, 59, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Thursday, August 9, at his mother's home in Eubank, Ky. 
He was the husband of Daurena Simpson Dyer whom he married on September 26, 1986. 
 Larry was born in Lockland, Ohio on November 11, 1952.  He was the son of Lavone Mae Cash Dyer Whitis and the late Melvin Richard Dyer.  Larry most recently worked as an inmate supervisor and a deputy sheriff at the St. Johns County Police Dept. in St. Augustine Florida. He began his law enforcement career as a Deputy at the Somerset Police Department, then at Hialeah, Bunnell  PD in Fla.  He was the CEO and Owner of AAACT Investigations, Inc. from 1998 until death.  He had worked as a paramedic, a real estate broker,  a former employee of the Commonwealth  Journal in Somerset. Larry was a graduate of the St. Johns Community College and was a member of the Church of Christ. 
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Daurena Dyer; his dear mother, Lavone (and Bill) Whitis of Eubank, Ky.; sister, Rhonda  (and Don) Bloomer.  Surviving children are daughter Nysha-Lynn Peifer Livingston; sons: William Dana Peifer, Eric Peifer, and Jonathan Daniels.
He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren: Shyla Peifer, Kacy Peifer, Thomas Livingston, Emyli  Livingston,  Zachary Daniels, Wendy Daniels, Skyler Daniels, Alexander Daniels, and Ava Jeanne Daniels.
 In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Allen Dyer.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel in Crab Orchard, Ky., with Bro. Marvin Cromer officiating.
Place of Burial: Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery in Willailla, Kent-ucky.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today, followed by the funeral approximately 11:30 at McKnight Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Charity of your choice.  Think of the public services, Police associations, Hospices, Firemen, Emergency Services are all in need of donations
