Obituaries for Wednesday, May 28, 2014


Somerset —

at the Somerset Nursing and Rehab Center.  
He attended the Science Hill Nazarene Church. Harry was a retired custodian of Somerset High School. Harry loved camping and was an avid horse shoe player. 
At his passing he was surrounded by his loving wife (Bernice Smith) of 62 years, children and family.  He is survived by his three children Darrell (and Sherry) Smith, Marvin Carroll (and Mackelene) Smith, Cheryl Golden (and fiancé Rick Hunter.) 
Darrell's family consists of daughters Tracy (and Weston) Lackey, Michelle (and Eric) Davis, Tiffany (and Ronnie) Dishman, Son Alan (and Kim) Dobbs; grandchildren Simon Lackey, Madison Davis, Dean Davis, Sara Davis, Josh Dishman, Shaylee Dishman, Macy Dishman, Hunter Dishman, Colton Dishman, AbriDobbs.  
Marvin Carroll's family consists of two sons, Alex, who is currently in the Navy and Allen. 
Cheryl Golden's family consists of a daughter, Beverly Golden (and fiancé Mike McQuain); two step kids, Julie Shelton and Turner McQuain of Rupert, W.Va.; a son, Chad (and Tatjana) Golden; a step daughter, Trinity; and a daughter, Chelsea of Crawley, W.Va. 
His brothers and sisters surviving him are Christen (Dodson), Betty (Dodson), Mary (Wesley), Dee Smith, Joe Smith, Paul (and Joyce) Smith, Frank Smith, and Warren Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Flossie and Doolin Smith; two sisters Geneva (Isabell) and Audry (Acey), one son, Allen, and two daughters Wilda and Wilma.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis Sellers officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
