Somerset — Richard Creekmore

Richard A. "Rick" Creekmore, 67, of Somerset, Ky., husband of Linda Jo Ashley Creekmore, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 16, 2014, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on June 21, 1946, son of the late Herstle and Juanita Crabtree Creekmore.  He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Melissa Creekmore Newton, and grand-dog, Oscar; a son, Stephen Snell; three beloved grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas and Sydney; a brother, Kenneth (and Glenda) Creekmore; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pat Goggins.

Richard was a man of many talents with a great love of music.

The family requests any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.

Raise a glass of Glenlivet in his memory and fondly remember one of Richard's favorite sayings, "No crybabies."

Beulah Jones

Beulah Catherine Edwards Jones, 95, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Beulah was born on July 7, 1918 to the late D.C. and Pearl Snell Edwards of Dykes, Ky., She married Earl Edward Jones Sr. of Mt. Victory on June 10, 1936. They had six children, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She read her Bible every morning and was a

longtime member of the Mt. Victory Christian Church where she attended as long as her health permitted. She was a retired seamstress of Palm Beach Company, she loved to cook, garden, and be by Earl’s side at the sawmill or just “going to the country.” She enjoyed quilting and crafts and just

having family get-togethers and reunions.  She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, David (and Edna) Jones, W.N. (and Pearlie) Jones, and Earl Edward Jr. (and Carleen) Jones; two daughters; Gailya (and Norris) Whitaker, Kathy (and Larry) Morgan and son-in-law James Mize; 14 grandchildren; Dylan (and Connie) Jones, Barry (and Bridget) Whitaker, Roger Jones, Billy (and Judy) Jones, Sheila (and Danny) Ramsey, Kevin (and Sherri) Jones, Laura (and Jason) Todd, Lynelle Wood, Jeanette Stringer, Noreen (and Paul) Bekish, Christi (and Jason) Burkhead, Jamie

(and Billy) Bolin, Holly (and George) Zachos, and Tracy (and Matthew) Phillips; sister-in-law; Helen Ruth Edwards; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Freida Mize; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Prows Jones; and a grandchild, Julie Jones; five brothers, Bishop, Virgil, Ray, Elmer, and Ira Edwards; and three sisters, Mae Whitis, Carrie Jenkins and Thelma Worrell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Paddick and Bro. Stanley Sears officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family of Beulah Catherine Edwards Jones will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 after 6 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Jones, Barry Whitaker, Roger Jones, Billy Jones, Kevin Jones and Danny Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers are Darren Jones and Andrew Jones.

In lieu of flowers family request expression of sympathy be made to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Southern Heights Christian Church and/or Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Family would like to extend their gratitude to all her caregivers.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Beulah Jones.
