Eloise Drake
Eloise Helton Drake, age 85, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Visitation for Mrs. Drake will be on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Somerset from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the church. Bro. French Harmon and Dr. William Drake will officiate the funeral service.
Interment will be on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Kinningham Cemetery Fund, in Knox County, Ky.
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Eloise Helton Drake.
 
William Schlake
William Joseph Schlake, age 67, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset.
Bill was born on March 25, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill. to the late Elmer and Marie Donze Schlake. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bill married Donna Jean Wright in Freeburg, Ill. on Sept. 20, 1969. They have two children from their union. 
He was a communications and signal supervisor for Norfolk Southern Railroad. Bill was an active member of St. Mildred's Catholic Church of Somerset and a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his leisure time, he loved hunting and fishing. Bill loved working in his garden and traveling. He was loved by so many, and he will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit. Bill was a man who loved life and he was known for his willingness to help anyone at anytime.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; their son, Troy William (and Michele) Schlake, of Richmond, Ky.; their daughter, Andra Kay Dalton, of Somerset, Ky.; his brother, Robert E. Schlake, of Doniphan, Mo.; three sisters, Virginia Eller, of St. Louis, Mo., Jackie Brennan, of Collinsville, Ill., and Kathryn Geiger, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Dakotah Dalton and Devlynn Dalton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Darlene Baker.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the St. Mildred's Catholic Church. 
A funeral mass will be held for William Joseph Schlake on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Father Michael Ramler will officiate the mass. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.  
Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Therese Smith
Therese Smith, age 58, of Nancy, Ky., wife of Wayne Smith, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at Lake Cumerberland Regional Hospital. 
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 after 4 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Donovan Burton officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. 
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
