Roger P. Bandiera, 61, of Science Hill, Ky. passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Lovie Ann Ping Gossett, age 87, of Somerset, Ky. passed away Feb. 6, 2014 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born May 29, 1926 daughter of the late George Harrison and Sarah Elizabeth Prather Ping. She was united in marriage to Mr. William A. Gossett on July 24, 1943, and he preceded her in death in May of 1979.
Survivors include three sons, Juil and Scotty Noe and Lowell and Minnie Gossett of Somerset, Ky., and Eugene and Norma Jean Gossett, of Monticello, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Elmer and Orville; one grandson, Donnie Noe; seven brothers, Charlie Franklin, William Clarence, James Arthur, Vola Green, Harrison Lee, Robert and Andrew Jackson Ping; and three sisters, Flonnie May Ping, Othia Mary Mayfield and Ilena Mayfield.
Lovie was a homemaker and a kind lady who loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9. 2014 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffith and Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pitman Creek Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Lovie Gossett will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.

Faye Lawson, age 89, of Somerset, Ky. departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at her residence.
Visitation for Ms. Lawson will be Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
There will also be a public visitation at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, one hour prior to the
11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home chapel. Bro. Rick Lawson and Bro. Scottie Nix will officiate the funeral service.
Interment will be in the Whitaker Cemetery. Faye's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Effie Alberta “Bertie” Poling, age 79, of Nancy, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at her residence.
Bertie was born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Van Dooser, Mo., to the late Walter E. and Nola Ann Johnson. She was a bus driver for many years for Pulaski County Board of Education. Bertie was of the Protestant Faith. She enjoyed crafts, especially quilts and quilting.
Bertie is survived by her daughter, Shirley Graham (and Harold Galloway), of Nancy, Ky.; her stepson, Robert P. (and Sherri) Poling, of Avieda, Fla.; her eight grandchildren, Kelly Poe, Matthew Poe, Danny Duty, Valerie Reed, James Anthony, Jr., David Anthony, Zack Poling and Cody Poling; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert Poling, who passed away in Jan. 2008; her stepson, Gregory Poling; her son-in-law, James Anthony; her brother, Don Johnson; and her two sisters, Helen Cantrel and Lavenna Graham.
Visitation for Ms. Poling was held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service followed the visitation at 1 p.m. Bro. Randy Wiles officiated the funeral service.
Interment is in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Margaret “Geraldine” Simpson, age 83, of Jefferson City, Tenn., formerly of Somerset, departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.
Geraldine was born on Feb. 7, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Audie and Francis Stevens Hodge. She was an employee for Roses Department Store in Somerset for 17 years. Geraldine was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond Brown, of Ind.; her sisters, Patty Bray, of Burnside, and Maze Bobbitt Stringer, of Shopville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Geraldine in death were her parents; her husband, Orville Simpson; her brothers, Clifford Hodge and Thomas Hodge; and her sisters, Mary Godbey, Marie Zachary, Lonie Ellen Tomlison and Helen May Stewart.
Visitation for Margaret Geraldine Simpson will be on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m.
Interment will be in West Somerset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Zachary, Ronald Zachary, Darrin Davis, Doug Bray, Raymond Brown and Dewey Stringer.
