Obituaries for Thursday, February 13, 2014


She was born on Nov. 11, 1933 in Halls Gap, Tenn. to the late William and Esta Phelps Dupes. Billie was a retired registered nurse and of the Baptist faith. 
She enjoyed fishing, feeding and watching birds and squirrels, and shopping. She was a nature lover and she enjoyed her four babies, which were her dogs. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack Wendell Harmon. 
She is survived by special friends and caregivers, Mary Middleton of Burnside, Ky., Jennie Honeycutt of Hamilton, Ohio, Dewayne and Frances Elmore of Burnside, Ky., Cody Elmore of Burnside, Ky., Jason and Jennifer Lyles and John and Rebecca Lyles of Burnside, Ky., Melissa Lyles, Rickie and April Middleton, Michael and Tracie Lyles, and Travis Smith; and several that were like grandchildren to her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 after 5 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Sprouse officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery in McCreary County, Ky. 
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  
Raymond Keltner
Raymond Keltner, age 98 years of the Sano Road community,
Columbia, Ky., passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 11:38 p.m. at Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
He was born on May 15, 1915  in Gradyville, Ky. He was the son of the late Phillip Hayden and Amanda Bell Bragg Keltner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Turner Keltner on July 28, 2003; a grandson, Mark Keltner; and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Rayburn Keltner and his wife Debbie of Science Hill, Ky., Dennis Keltner and his wife Rita of Campbellsville, Ky., and George Hayden Keltner and his wife Linda of Vacaville, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Brad Keltner, Brandon Keltner, Lisa Rowlett, Anita Proffitt, John Keltner, Rachel Moats, Jason Keltner, and Timothy Keltner; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
