Mary Roy


Mary Joan Price Roy, 81, of Somerset passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her residence. 
She was born on July 4, 1931 in Somerset, Ky. She is the daughter of Manford and Maggie Price. Joan was an elementary school teacher in the Pulaski County area for 35 years.
Joan was a graduate of Eubank High School, and later went to Sue Bennett College before graduating from Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Roy. Along with her husband, she is survived by her six children, Jan (and Mike) Prather, Jill (and Harrison) Childers, Jerri (and Soloman) King, Mike (and Paula) Roy, Jeana (and Tony) Ricks, and Julie (and Chad) Jordan. She was the grandmother to 11 grandchildren. 
Visitation for Mrs. Roy will be Wednesday November 28, 2012 from 12-1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Bro. Allan Fischer officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens
