Louise Turpin

Louise Turpin, 83, left this earth to her eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014.

She was born in Somerset, Ky. on April 20, 1930 and raised in Ferguson, Ky. She married James Earl Turpin on June 30, 1951 and they soon moved to Ohio. Louise worked in a variety of roles, from the operating room to the IRS in Kentucky, learning about life and living it to its fullest. Lastly, she dedicated herself to working alongside James when they purchased their own IGA grocery store in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Her beloved husband preceded her in death in 1991 after 40 years of marriage.

Louise cherished and sacrificed for her family, and she was a completely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to each member. She created countless wonderful memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to her death, Louise spent Christmas 2013 with her family at her home, thoroughly enjoying them in what will be a treasured memory.

She is survived by her loving family: ±Two daughters, Corliss Doxsey (Ernie), Cincinnati, Ohio and Beverly Barrowcliff (Russell), Maineville, Ohio; a son, James Earl Turpin, Jr. (Linda), Lawrenceburg, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Patrick Doxsey, Douglas Ferrell (Jennifer), Carynne Sebastian, Alissa Schneider (Todd), Leah Clemens, Jamie and Sarah Turpin; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey Louise and Addison Jane Ferrell, Jacob and Felicia Sebastian, Tyler and Isabella Schneider, and Quinton Adkins.

She gladly served as MaMa as well to Autumn Martin.

One of 10 children, she is also survived by her only living sibling, her sister, Martha Stringer of Somerset, Ky.

Through her life she modeled perseverance and courage in facing life's demands and struggles without complaint and with enormous dignity. All of us will miss her dearly and she will live in our hearts forever. While we mourn her loss to us, we celebrate her joyful reunion with the dear family who have been awaiting her in heaven.

Services for Louise will be Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Community Harvest Church of God on Empire Drive, Somerset.

Visitation will be at the church from 1:30 p.m. until time of services.

Interment will follow at Science Hill Cemetery.
