Joyce Jones
Joyce D. Ridings Jones, age 79, of Somerset, departed this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Joyce was born on Jan. 30, 1935, to the late James and Patsy Ridings. Joyce married William Ray "Buddy" Jones on Aug. 2, 1971. She loved working on their dairy farm. She was a retired farmer and homemaker. She loved her animals. Joyce will be missed by so many that knew her. She loved all of her CNAs at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Joyce never met a stranger and had a way of making every one smile she came in contact with, no matter what kind of day they were having.  
She is survived by her sons, Billy Ray Ridings, of Boaz, Ala., and Steven Ray Warren, of Springfield, Ill.; her daughter, Peggy Jo Warren, of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Barbara Sneed, of Bardstown and Helen (and Dee) Haste, of Bardstown; special nieces, Shirley (and David) Hughes and Rita (and Rick) Gilreath; a special nephew, Gary (and Lynn) Grimsley; and several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who will mourn her passing.
Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buddy" Jones, who passed away March 18, 1999; her sisters, Peggy Jo Hughes, Mary Katherine Brent, Ella Mae Grimsley, and Betty Jean Cox; her brother, James Edward Ridings; and a special niece, Patsy Wesley.
Visitation for Joyce will be on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. 
The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.  
Interment will be in Somerset Cemetery.

Carolyn Marcum
Carolyn Sue Marcum, age 73, of New Castle, Ind. passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Indiana University Hospital Saxony in Fishers, Ind. 
She was born Oct. 26, 1940 in Science Hill, Ky., a daughter of the late William and Anna Wesley Langdon. She was a lifelong New Castle resident, and attended New Castle schools. She was a member of the Spiceland Pike Church of God and had attended the Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Marcum had worked for Dana Corporation in Hagerstown. She loved family activities, and sharing time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing golf and “antiquing.” She was also a member of the Perfect Circle Ladies Association. 
Left to cherish her loving memory are three daughters, Terry Massengale (husband David) of New Castle, Kim Criswell of New Castle, and Lana Hammond (husband Chris) of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Michael Criswell (wife Kim) of New Castle, Jason Massengale (wife Jenny) of New Castle, Kara Gorney (husband Michael) of New Castle, Melissa Marcum of New Castle, Eric Marcum (wife Carly) of Nashville, Tenn., Justin Hammond of New Castle, and Brandon Hammond of New Castle; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Massengale of New Castle, Ian Massengale of New Castle, Austin Criswell of New Castle, Trinton Massengale of New Castle, Caden Hammond of New Castle, Maci Marcum of New Castle, and Brayden Marcum of New Castle; two sisters, Betty Neal of New Castle and
Barbara McCarty (husband Kenny) of New Castle; sister-in-law, Pat Langdon of New Castle; special friend, Bud Frost of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Greg Marcum; one brother, Bill Langdon; and one sister, Irene Paul.
A funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Tony Piper and Reverend Henry Weaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
Visitation for Mrs. Carolyn Marcum will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services in New Castle, Ind.

Robert Ratliff
Robert James Ratliff, 64, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014.  
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014. 
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Winfrey Watson
Winfrey Watson, 87, of Liberty, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home. 
He was born Oct. 22, 1926 in Liberty, the son of the late Ollis and Irene Vaught Watson. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Winfrey enjoyed traveling, fishing, and reading, especially his Bible. He enjoyed building and making metal, machinery and wooden objects in his shop. He was a member of the Valley Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hammond Watson, to whom he was married for 62 years; one son, Chris (and Kathy Vest) Watson of Liberty; one daughter, Christy Karen (and Jimmy) Thrasher of Somerset; three grandchildren, Jacquelyn Watson and fiancé Nick Borders of Bowling Green, Ky., Jennifer Stephens Thrasher of Somerset, and Dustin Thrasher and special friend Ashley Jones of Lexington; one great-granddaughter, Lorein Stephens; and special cousin Dr. Steven Vaught and his family, of Elizabethtown, Ky. 
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty, Ky. with Rev. Bobby Clark officiating. 
Burial will be in Oak Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tanner and Dustin Thrasher, Nick Borders, George Vest, Ronnie Joe, and Kenny Wesley. The honorary pallbearer will be Steve Vaught. 
Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty, Ky. is in charge of arrangements. 
 
Jessica Wingate
Jessica Wingate, 24, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 
She was born in Lexington, Ky., daughter of Debra Joyce Smith Wingate. 
Surviving besides her mother are her grandmother, Joyce Bowman, Science Hill, Ky.; her grandfather, Ronald Smith, Sr., Lexington, Ky.; her uncle, Ronald Smith, Jr., Nicholasville, Ky.; her aunts, Kim (Doug) Breeding, Richmond, Ky. and Veronica (Larry) Rogers, Richmond, Ky.; Debra's fiance’ Jess Nixon, McGaheysville, Va.; her cousins; her caregivers, Deb and Jim Woosley, Somerset, Ky; and Jessica's other relatives. 
A gathering of family and friends will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing.
