Dewey Sneed


Dewey William Sneed, age 83 of Bardstown, Ky., formerly of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Life Care Center in Bardstown, Ky.  
He was born on Feb. 25, 1929 in Cabin Hollow, Ky. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown, Ky. Mr. Sneed was in the military during the Korean War and he was a member of the DAV, Pulaski County Chapter 47. He formerly worked at the Virginia and Kentucky Theatres and Southern Belle Dairy. Mr. Sneed was a familiar friend around the courthouse in Somerset, Ky. He also enjoyed fishing and he loved University of Kentucky basketball, football and the Cincinnati Reds.  
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Sneed of Bardstown, Ky.; his special niece and caregiver, Donna Haste of Bloomfield, Ky.; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Dee Haste of Bloomfield, Ky.; a special great-niece, Clarissa Haste of Bloomfield, Ky.; his two special nieces, Sandy Haste Connor of Miss. and Rita Gilreath of Imperial, Mo.; and many relatives and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his father, Frankie Fulcher, and his mother, Maudie Sneed; and his two brothers, Clayton and James Sneed.  
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Ky., and on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until time for service at 12 p.m.  
His funeral service will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 12 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Brother David Carr will officiate.  
Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
