Claude Hopper

Claude "C.O." Hopper, 73, of Somerset, departed this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. 
He was born on July 11, 1939 in Russell Springs to Sylva Faith McBeath and the late Claude E. Hopper. He was a member of the Salem United Baptist Church and a Veteran of the US Army. He was retired
from Georgia-Pacific in Cincinnati, Ohio where he had been a fork lift operator for 28 years. He loved fishing and NASCAR and was a fan of Bluegrass Gospel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude E. Hopper; a brother, J.M. Hopper; and a nephew, Justin Hopper.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Coomer Hopper, Somerset; mother, Faith Hopper, Russell Springs; four brothers, Lowell (Mary Jo) Hopper, Randal (Vela) Hopper and Phillip (Joyce)
Hopper, all of Russell Springs, and Lloyd (Betty) Hopper, Bethel, Ohio; four sisters, Bonnie (Cecil) Hughes, Jeffersonville, Ind., Nila (Albert) Lothery, Borden, Ind., Lyda (Tim) Foster, Clarksville, Ind., and Tina Haydon, Faubush, Ky.; sister-in-law, Wanda Hopper, Faubush, Ky.; and nieces, nephews and special friends, the Shirley Marksbury family, Cincinnati. 
Funeral service for Claude "C.O." Hopper will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home chapel in Russell Springs with Rev. John Zupanic and Rev Lloyd Hopper officiating.
Special music by Glen and Willodean Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Hopper, Phillip Hopper, Randal Hopper, Lowell Hopper, Kendall Hopper, and Paul Coomer.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.
Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs in charge of arrangements.
