Anna Marie Abbott
Anna Marie Abbott of West Science Hill, Ky., departed this earth at Batesville, Ind., on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the age of 86.
She was born at Mt. Zion on November 10, 1927, the third child of Fred Oscar and Flossie Doreen Hines Dick. Marie married Chester Ray Abbott on July 4, 1959 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary shortly before his death in 2009.
Marie was a long-time member of West Science Hill Baptist Church and was active as secretary for many years. She graduated from Eubank High School. After graduation, she was employed at Palm Beach Somerset for 42 years where she received their very first Employee of the Month award.
 Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray; three brothers, Royal, Ellis, and Larry Dick; and one sister, Violet Brooks. 
She is survived by one brother, Hollis Dick of Hamilton, Ohio; and three sisters, Lena (and Donald) Wesley of West Chester, Ohio, Margaret (and Ralph) Hall of Lockland, Ohio, and Jean (and Billie) Baugh of Batesville, Ind. Also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces. 
Being our oldest sister, she was admired and loved by all of her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at West
Science Hill Baptist Church with Bro. TJ Godbey officiating.
Burial will be in West Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for Anna Marie Abbott will be held after 6 p.m. today, March 4, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

John Baxter
John Baxter, 67, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014.
A funeral service will be held at 7 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Baxter, Bro. Jonathan Brinson, Bro. Scott Eubank, Bro. Randy Reynolds and Bro. Phil Morgan officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Ethel Brown
Ethel Flora Brown, 81, of Tateville, Ky., departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at her residence. 
Ethel was born on March 9, 1933 in Pulaski Co. to the late Bro. Robert & Bessie Johnson Silvers. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter; Patricia Young of Tateville, Ky.; two grand-daughters, Shelley Young and Leisa Jane VanHook; three grandsons, James VanHook, Darriel VanHook, and Jerry VanHook; a sister, three brothers, and many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Young; second husband, Calvin Brown; a daughter, Jeanie VanHook; a son, Donald Lee Young; and two sisters, Girdie Silvers and Elsie Cooper.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Blue
John Cemetery in Tateville, Ky.

Lisa New
Lisa New, 56, wife of Delane New, of LaGrange, Ky., and formerly of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Sunday March 2, 2014 at the Norton's Pavilion Hospice Center in Louisville, Ky. 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 after 5 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. 
Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. 
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, 315 E. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40205.

Albert Saylor, 72, of Eubank, Ky., passed away Monday, March 3, 2014.

Burniece Scott
Mrs. Burniece Scott, 91 of Somerset, Ky., was born on March 25, 1922 in Lancing Tennessee
and departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home.  
Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mrs. Burniece Scott will receive friends Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home.

Opal Sweet
Opal Irene Sweet, 80, of Waynesburg, Ky., passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in Kings Mountain, Ky., on May 1, 1933, daughter of the late Vonnie and Gladys Marie Pittman Pullum. She was a farmer.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Shelley and Alice (and Carlos) Howell, both of Waynesburg, Ky.; three grandchildren, Reva York, Jeffrey York and Melinda Shelley; two great-grandchildren, Zayden York and Lilly Osborne; Phillip Witt, whom she thought of like a son, of Waynesburg, Ky.; two half-brothers and four half-sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira B. Sweet; her parents; two daughters, Gladys Marie Sweet, who died in infancy, and Brenda Sweet; and one brother, Earl Pullum.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating.
Burial will be in Jacob's Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Ronnie Ware
Mr. Ronnie Ware, 55, son of Joyce (amd Patton) and the late Rapheal Ware was born on August 1, 1958 in Casey County, Ky., and departed this life on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father.
Other than his mother Mr. Ware is survived by one son, Jonathon (and Nikki) Ware of Bronston, Ky.; four sisters, Carolyn GoForth of Liberty, Ky., Diane Ware of Liberty, Ky., Donna Wihbrink of Union,
Ky., and Debra Ware of Hebron, Ky.; one grandchild, Raylan Ware; and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Mr. Ware was a farmer, collected arrowheads and loved tractor pulls.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Valley Oak Baptist Church with Bobby Clark officiating.  
Burial will follow in the Valley Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Ronnie Ware will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2013 after 11:00 a.m. until time for services.
