Somerset — Ida Bishop

Ida Elizabeth Bishop, 87, of Science Hill, Ky., passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013.

She was born in Somerset, Ky. on April 16, 1926, daughter of the late Jason and Betha Jane Williams Hall. She was a representative for Avon and a member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by two sons, Earl David Bishop and Kerry Dale (and Karen) Bishop, both of Science Hill; three brothers, Gus (and Myra Jo) Hall of Lebanon, Ohio, David (and Jeanne) Hall and D.B. (and Sue) Hall, both of Somerset; one sister, Maxine (and Ralph) McPheron of Somerset; three grandchildren, Bo Jarad Bishop, Bryan Conley (and Sarah) Bishop and T.R. Bishop; five great-grandchildren, Haggan, Shaw, Alexis, Willow and Brantlee; special friend, Betty Moyer of Science Hill; special niece, Ginger of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bishop; her parents; one brother, Glenn W. Hall; one sister, Ada June Hall; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Hall.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis Sellars and Bro. Brian Whitaker officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today, Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bo Bishop, T.R. Bishop, Bryan Bishop, Gus Hall, D.B. Hall and David Hall.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva Browning

Eva Browning, age 88 of Tateville, Ky. and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on March 21, 1925 in Reading, Ohio to the late Bert Norton and Beulah Dyer Williams Grant.

Eva worked for Craftmasters and Autolight in Toledo, Ohio for 50 years. She was a homemaker and member of Riverside Baptist Church in Toledo. She loved antiquing, glassware, a special collection of dolls and her special friend, “Buffy,” her dog.  

She is survived by a niece, Carol (Jim) Dancy of Tateville, Ky.; and a nephew, Eddie (Pat) Casada of Somerset, Ky.; four great-nephews and great-nieces, Jamie (Donna) Dancy, Angela (Jason) Watson, Rebecca (Tyler) Thompson and Cody (Raesha) Casada; two great-great-grandnieces, Kylie Watson and Bellamie Thompson; one great-great-grandnephew, Brendon Casada.

She is also survived by a special friend, Howard Summers of Toledo, Ohio; a special aunt, Edna Phelps of Shopville, Ky.; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Browning; a brother, Virgil Norton; a sister, Ruby (Harley) Casada; a nephew, James Allen Casada; and great-nephew, Brandon Casada.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 after 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Christian and Bro. David Morris officiating.

Burial will be in the Barnesburg Cemetery.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
