Georgi A. Walthers Large, 69, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1944 in Valdosta, Ga. to the late George Francis Walthers and Aileene Ruth Alexander Walthers.
Georgi was a retired office assistant for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. She enjoyed shopping, making jewelry, horseback riding and traveling. She was an avid reader and loved her pets.
Georgi is survived by one son, Michael Large (Lora Gale) of Chalybeate, Ky.; one daughter, Sherry Martin of Somerset, Ky.; one grandson, Andrew Martin of Somerset, Ky. and one brother, R. Allan Walthers of Danville, Ky.
Visitation for Georgi will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church.
A celebration honoring the life of Georgi A Large will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating.

Daphene “Barb” Lockard, age 63 of Bronston, Ky. passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on April 3, 1950 in Trimble Community of Pulaski County to the late Clarence “Tankie” Burton and Ina Pearl Dalton Burton.
She was a member of Bronston Baptist Tabernacle Church and enjoyed yard sales, flowers, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed life in general and loved gospel singings, WLJC and The Waltons.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother, Ina Pearl Burton of Trimble, Ky.; her husband, Jesse Edgar Lockard, whom she married on Oct. 21, 1967 in Somerset, Ky.; two sons, Bro. Jeffery (Sherlene) Lockard of Science Hill, Ky. and Jason (Chandra Marcum) Lockard of Eubank, Ky.; one daughter, Glenda (JR Philpot) Elder of Somerset, Ky.; four brothers, Darrell (Pamela) Burton of Trimble, Ky., Dale (Birtha) Burton of Trimble, Ky., Lawrence Burton of Trimble, Ky. and David (Candi) Burton of Trimble, Ky.; four sisters, Freda (Russell) Gibson of Bronston, Ky., Christine (Jerry) Pyles of Somerset, Ky., Clarine (Danny) Stephens of Trimble, Ky. and Lisa (Ronnie) Hall of Somerset, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jared Lockard, Jacob Lockard, Marissa (C.J.) Keith, Brannon Elder, Jordan (Stasi) Gragg and Makayla Lockard; four great-grandchildren, Blake Gragg, Lexia Johnson, Coda Keith and Noah Keith; one uncle, Roy (Ina) Epperson of Trimble, Ky.; two aunts, Della Dalton of Trimble, Ky. and Ruby Hardwick of Ill.; and two special friends, Judy Powell of Colo. and Lora Goodman of Bronston, Ky.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 after 11 a.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte, Bro. James Mills, Bro. Jordan Gragg and Bro. Jeffery Lockard officiating.
Burial will be in the Bronston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jared Lockard, Jacob Lockard, Brannon Elder, CJ Keith, Nigel Burton and Sammy Smith.

A Celebration of Life and Remembrance for Nancy L. Phillippi Richardson, formerly of Somerset Ky., will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at The Ferguson School Community Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Mr. Delma Lonas Simpson of Stab, Ky. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of 96 years 10 months and 7 days.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1916 in Bent, Ky. to Coleman Simpson and Lottie Harris (Hawk) Simpson. He served in World War II in South Pacific Islands and Australia from 1942-1946.
He was united in marriage to Edna Marie Harper, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Rothel Hawk; a son, James Delma Simpson; a grandchild, Marcy Anne Higgins; an infant sister; and three brothers, Clinton, Charles and Carlos Hawk.
Delma is survived by the following children: Linda Sue (and Glenn) Ping, Ruby Joyce Higgins, Lottie Jane (and Bob) Trowbridge, Nancy Mae (and Jim) Higgins, Anthony Dwight “Tony” (and Billie) Simpson, Melody Marie Simpson and Thomas Trace Simpson; the following grandchildren: Anna (and Jeff) Mize, Edward Bullock, Michelle (and Mike) Richardson, Jamie Simpson, Steven (and Hope) Higgins, Elaine (and Steve) Hall, Corey (and Chris) Criswell, Mary Higgins, Whitney (and Nathaniel) Harden, Alex Simpson, Jacinda Tonelli, August, Emarie and Reagan Simpson; great-grandchildren, Miranda (and Ben) Hunt, Caitlin (and Jonathan) Mize, Cameron and Zachary Bullock, Christopher and LaShea Richardson, Jacob Hodgens, Angel Denney, Allison and Molly Higgins, Samantha (and Lance) Minton, Deanna Bowles, Dakota Lee, Jackson Hall and Isabella Hardin; great-great-grandchildren, Owen Hunt, Maverick Hunt and Conner Minton; and sisters, Marie Farmer of Bargersville, Tenn., Marlene Dolen of Rogersville, Tenn., and Fales Hawk of Woodstock, Ky.
Delma was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and he was a farmer.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Bro. Alan Dodson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Price Valley Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Delma Simpson will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 after 9 a.m. until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.
