Lloyd Estes


Lloyd J. Estes, 73, of Eubank, Ky., passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Bridgeport, Ind. on December 2, 1938, son of the late Marshall H. and Lillie M. McPheron Estes. He was a retired postal carrier with the U.S. Postal service. He was a Vietnam and Desert Storm U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the VFW, Eubank 5358.
He is survived by two sons, Lloyd J. (and Maggie) Estes of Indiana and Thomas W. (and Roxie) Estes of Texas; four daughters, Alicia (and Rob) Meece of Somerset, Maria (and Scott) Horton of Indiana, Patricia (and Brian) Platt of England and Pamela (and Tim) Knowlton of Arizona; one sister, Betty (and Tom) Herron of Noblesville, Ind.; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalind M. Higgins Estes, whom he married on April 3, 1969 and who died on December 26, 2005; his parents; two brothers in infancy Danny Estes and Lowell James Estes; and one sister, Gladys Baker.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Phil Fisher officiating.
Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
