Viola Emogene Price DeBord of Somerset, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation attaining the age of 84 years and one week.
She was born November 8, 1929 in the Elrod Community of Pulaski County to the late Paul and Nannie Sutton Price. She was united in marriage to Denver DeBord Dec. 11, 1948 in Somerset, Ky.
Viola was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening, her flowers and her family. She was a great cook, known for her apple pies. She was a member of Hazeldell Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Diane (and David) Martin of Somerset, Doris Poynter of Somerset, Clinton (and Kathy)DeBord of Somerset, Denton (and Sandy) DeBord of Somerset, Carola (and Doug) Blevins of Somerset; grandchildren Judith (and Jimmy) Dyehouse, Bobby Dean Poynter, Brian Poynter, Stephen DeBord, Stephanie Easterly, Lucas DeBord and Jacob (and Haley) Blevins all of Somerset; four great-grandchildren, Amelia and Zavian Smith, Chase Easterly, and Sidney DeBord; a brother, Vernon (and Jean) Price of Somerset and sister-in-law, Violet Price of Somerset.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Carlos Roy DeBord; great grandson, Bentley William Easterly; and her brother, Freeman Price.
Visitation for Viola will be held Monday, November 18 at 5 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co. & Crematory.
A celebration honoring the life of Viola will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company, with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating.
Interment will be in Bobbitt Cemetery.

Curtis Mae Dykes
Curtis Mae Phelps Dykes, 83, of Ky. 1781 in Waynesburg, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at her residence.
Born Friday, November 7, 1930 in Norwood, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Derill & Martha Ellen Hargis. She was the widow of the late Ancil Junior “Punk” Dykes, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2006.
Curtis was a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern
Star no. 501. In her spare time, she enjoyed attended gospel singings, quilting,
reading, and working puzzles.
Curtis leaves behind five sons, Gary Dale Dykes (and Ann) of Nicholasville, Ancil Clemon Dykes of Stanford, Ricky Oliver Dykes (and Jamie) of Eubank, William Derill Dykes (and Gloria) of Waynesburg, and Donald Wayne Dykes (and Beverly) of Eubank; nine daughters, Clara June Rector (and James) of Waynesburg, Ginger Carol Greer (and Delbert) of Waynesburg, Mary Sue Foster (and Jerry) of Somerset, Beverly Mae Haitt (and Jimmy) of Crab Orchard, Kathy Tucker (and Charles) of Eubank, Mimie Lou Latham (and Henry) of St. Louis, Missouri, Paula Lynn Denny of Waynesburg, Gena Christine Reed (and Jim) of Somerset, and Patricia Lynn Kilby (and Jason) of Waynesburg; one brother, Robert Phelps of Somerset; one sister, Jaunita Chapman of Jackson, Mo.; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Rose Dykes; one grandson, Jeffrey Allen Latham; one granddaughter, Martha Ellen Latham; and her siblings, Glenn Phelps, Carroll Phelps, William D. Phelps, Emma Woodall, Irene Chapman, Vera Jean Woodall, Eunice Phelps, and Newman L. Phelps.
A Funeral Service will be held 12 noon Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Sewell and Bro. Greg Lockard officiating the service.
Burial will follow in Goodwater Cemetery in Pulaski County.
Robert Rector, Lee Hiatt, Danny Dykes, Matthew Dykes, Travis Dykes, Vincent
Denny, and Jerome Phelps will serve as active pallbearers.
The visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the funeral home with an Order of the Eastern Star Service beginning at 6 p.m.
