Evelyn Michele Moore Brown, 68, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Carla Childers
Carla G. Sellers Childers, 48, of Burnside, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Jada Chumbley
Mrs. Jada Rose Rutheford Chumbley, 36, of Columbia, Ky., daughter of Norman Rutheford and Mary Jo Powell Rutheford of Eubank, Ky., was born on Aug. 19, 1977 in Taylor County, Ky. and she departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2014 at her home.  
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Steven Michael Chumbley of Columbia; two sons, Jordan Scott Perkins and Joseph Blake Perkins, both of Campbellsville; step-children, Michael Cody Chumbley of Columbia, and Bethany Wethington and Nikki Wethington both of Campbellsville; and a brother, Brandon Rutheford.
Cremation was chosen.  
Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky. were in charge of the arrangements.

Ola Hargis
Ola B. Hargis, age 81, of Somerset, departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
Ola was born on June 11, 1932, in Pulaski County to the late Gifford and Mary Sears Phelps. She married Fred W. Hargis on Feb. 2, 1950. Ola was a retired seamstress with the Palm Beach Company in Somerset. She was of the Baptist faith, being a member of the White Lily Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mike (and Bernice) Hargis, of Somerset; three of her sisters, Fayrene (and Howard) Hargis, of Somerset, Ruthella (and Harvey "Bud") Burchfield, of Norwood, Ohio, and Faustine (and Jimmy) Burton, of Somerset; her sister-in-law, Dorotha Johnson, of Somerset; and many nieces
and nephews.
Preceding Ola in death are her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Fred; an infant daughter, Doris Jean; her brother, Ivan Phelps; and her sister, Edna Mae Phelps.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. 
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Bro Randy Wiles will officiate the funeral service. 
Interment will be in Malvin Hill Cemetery.

Helen Hyden
Helen Darlene Hyden, age 69, of Mount Victory, departed this life on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 21, 2014, after 6 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Mount Victory Cemetery.  Interment will be in Mount Victory Cemetery.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Geneva Jackson
Geneva Phelps Jackson, age 95, of Stanford, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky. following a short illness.
Geneva was the widow of Elwyn Jackson, her husband of 53 years, who passed away on Nov. 16, 2000. She was born in eastern Pulaski County on June 16, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Balzora Phelps.
She was a homemaker and loved to garden and cook for family and friends. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #1 in eastern Pulaski County. Geneva moved to Stanford in 2005 to make her home with her daughter, Jeanne. She regularly attended Grace Fellowship Church and was actively involved in worship, her Sunday School class and Senior Friends.
Geneva is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Compton-Brown and her husband, Vola Brown of Stanford; a grandson, Jeremy Compton of Nancy; a step-grandson, Stephen Brown of Lexington; and a step-granddaughter, Kim Brown Jones of Stanford. 
Also surviving are seven step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and seven brothers and sisters, Dora Keeney, Ada Fulcher, Madeline Sewell, Murrell Phelps, Ralph Phelps, Leda Jones and James Estle Phelps.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Ky. with Bro. Vola Brown, Bro. Kevin Pettus and Bro. Dave Muse officiating.
Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Jake Saylor
Jake M. Saylor, age 82, of Corbin, passed away on Monday March 17, 2014 at his residence.
He was a retired engineer from General Motors.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents, Purr and Allie Barnett Saylor;  brothers, Isom Saylor, Blaine Saylor, Murl Saylor, and Gene Daniels;  and by a granddaughter, Florence Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Hunley Saylor; children, Patricia Belcher and husband Dennis of Mich., Diane Maxey and husband Glenn of Somerset, Jake Saylor and wife Michelle of Washington Township, Mich., and Terry Saylor of Corbin; nine grandchildren, Maxine Cook, Robert Miller, Crystal Beitler, Wes Finley, Tiffany Bourne, Casey Pfabe, Jake Saylor III, Satin Satterfield, and Michael Snover; great-grandchildren, Lisa Cook, Jamie Cook, Gabriel Cook, Hallie Miller, J.T. Elrod, Aimee Elrod, Emily Miller, Jacob Miller, Nicole Beitler, Doug Beitler, Megan Beitler, Andrew Dorsey, William Beitler, Brodrick Finley,
Cohen Finley, Cort Pfabe, and Jayden Saylor; brothers and sisters, Jeff Saylor, Delia Charles, Alkie Saylor, and Jerry Daniels; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Saylor will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday March 21, 2014 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Ky. with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating.
Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Ky.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

Emma Stephens
Emma Mae Stephens, age 57, of Somerset, departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2014 at her residence.
Emma was born on June 24, 1956, in Somerset, to Dennis and Kathleen Pointer Stigall. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a lifelong resident of Somerset.
She is survived by her mother; her daughter, Tamara (and Maj. Joshua) Connell, of Alexandria, Va.; her brothers, Dennis Ray Stigall and Jimmy Lee Stigall, both of Somerset; her sister, Darla Kay Jones, also of Somerset; and one grandson, Andrew Paul Connell.
Preceding Emma in death are her father and her husband, Paul Edward Stephens.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, March 20,
2014 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. 
A graveside
service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Mill Springs National Cemetery, in Nancy. Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Beulah Watts
Beulah Pearl Watts, age 80, of Bronston, departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford.
Beulah was born on May 12, 1933, in Somerset to the late James and Maggie Bolton Helton. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith, being a member of the Bronston Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, David (and Jackie) Houck, of Portland, Ind. and Glenn (and Louise) Loper, of Bronston; her daughters, Linda Houck and Pamela (and Paul) Walters, of Johnson City, Tenn., and Terri (and Mark) Bridges, of Waynesburg; two step-daughters, Cindy and Patty, of Richmond, Ind.; her brother, Ray Helton, of Hilton Head, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding Beulah in death are her parents; her husband, Chester Lee Watts; and 10 brothers and sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. 
A memorial service will follow the gathering at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Bro. Carter Stewart will officiate the memorial service.
Interment will be in the Bronston Baptist Church Cemetery.
